Why I became a Kinesiologist

My initial experience with Kinesiology was around 15 years ago.

My husband and I had been trying to start our family for a long time with no luck.  A friend gave me the contact details for a Kinesiologist she knew.  I had never heard of Kinesiology and had no idea what to expect.  I was happy to try anything, so gave Rebecca a call and made an appointment.

What I remember about my first session is that I felt supported and safe with Rebecca in the space she had provided.  It was a new experience for me to open up about the deeply personal topics I was navigating and I am thankful to this day that she was the practitioner I chose.

I had no idea what she was doing but everything that was coming up was poignant and so relative to what was going on in my life. Often it was about important things I had swept aside or jumped over.  It took a willingness from me to have a really honest look at myself and about how I was walking through the world.  This is not always easy or comfortable to do.  It was time for me to start looking at what no longer served me, some of the patterns I was following and things I wanted to change.  I realized there were aspects of myself I didn’t like very much.  Rebecca’s skill, my openness to change what didn’t serve me any longer and an investment in time has me now in an exciting, fruitful stage of my life.

So, 15 years later I am a single mother of 4 children.  I feel very blessed to say that my ex husband and I are the best of friends and deeply respect and love each other.  It has been an absolutely conscious decision of ours to move into a different phase of our relationship.  The way we have managed our separation reflects how we both are as people and has primarily been because it is how we want it to be for us. The amazing result of that is that the transition for our children has been very smooth.

Another important result is that our children get to see that if things aren’t working, its ok to change them.  My hope is that they have learnt there is a respectful, loving way you can make changes, and your heart can stay present and open.

If I had not done work on myself, which included other modalities as well as Kinesiology, I have no doubt I would be a different person today.  I am so thankful to have walked the path I have to end up where I am now.  The path in front of me is an exciting one.

I still see Rebecca today for Kinesiology and our professional relationship is a deeply nurturing, safe and beneficial one.  I often walk out thinking “This stuff is amazing” and I get so much benefit from my sessions. They keep me evolving into the best version of myself I can be and that is important for me as a person and a practitioner.

My experience led me to study Kinesiology and complete my diploma.  4 1/2 years of study has me now practicing as a Kinesiologist.   I feel privileged to be working with an abundance of amazing clients and have the opportunity to support them and help them be the best they can be.  It is an honor to be helping amazing people and working in a business I love.

I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you on your life journey and  help you facilitate positive change.
